Replica of Ireland's Ballina Cross, hand-cast in stone composite; 10" x 5 1/2" Item CR-BLNA
The Irish Wake offers gorgeous stone Celtic crosses that are detailed replicas of magnificent crosses dotting the landscape of Ireland,
at cathedrals, abbeys, and other sacred places.
This is a cast stone replica of the Ballina Cross, also called the "Peace Cross," found in the heart of Ireland in County Tipperary, where the Shannon River leaves Lough Derg and rushes toward the city of Limerick and the sea. The descending dove is a reference to the Bible verse, Mark 1:10,
“And when Jesus came up out of the water, he saw the heavens
split open and the Holy Spirit descending like a dove on him.”
Authentic to the tiniest detail, this cross is cast by hand in a composite stone material, and has a beautiful antique patina.
The cross measures 10" high and 5 1/2" wide and has a hanger on the back.
These sturdy, substantial crosses are the perfect accompaniment to an Irish funeral memorial service, whether hung on the wall, placed on or in the casket,
decorating the podium, or displayed amongst the flowers.
Afterwards, a cross is a touching remembrance for
Irish families to display at home as a
lasting tribute to their departed loved one.
